2018 Doddi's Dash Photos & Results

The 2018 Doddi's Dash was held on Sunday 9 December. Of the 45 swimmers entered, 40 made it to the start line. As you can see from the photo's Lyn took, everyone had a great time. Most importantly, we raised $454.60 to donate to Dot's Place Cancer Support Centre - Well done everyone!

Congratulations to Sarah Denny our first female winner of the "Barb Pellick" Golden Goggles Trophy. Sarah lead from start to finish. Maybe the fact she is a policewomen may have been an advantage in that it other swimmers weren't going to risk passing her and getting a speeding ticket! But in reality no one came near to catching her - Well done Sarah!

Other prize winners were:

  • 2nd Place - Paul Frost Paul's sprint-stop-sprint strategy paid off and may be picked up by other swimmers next year.

  • 3rd Place - Heather Newcombe-Virgil A great swim from Heather, who can never be underestimated.

  • Swimmer in the most hurry - Glenda Hurtado Great swim Glenda you completed the course in an elapsed time of 16:01.

  • Most Leisurely Swim - Phil Cooney Well done Phil, lucky you did not push a little harder; otherwise, Annette would have beaten you!

  • Last home, lock the door and put the cat out - Karen Boyce We put Karen's win down to the handicappers underestimating the amount of time she has spent addressing the United Nations and not training.
