WOW Swim Series

Club members meet at Doddi’s Beach on Halls Head Parade for a swim of whatever distance each swimmer prefers.

We swim all through the year on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings, we hit the water at 8:00am.  Summer sessions are brought forward to 7:30am starting from the 1st December until 31st March 2024.

This swim (largely due to the convenience of having a coffee shop across the road) often sees around 25 swimmers staying for a coffee and chat.

For safety reasons, these are supervised swims with a Spotter on the beach keeping watch on swimmers between 8:00am and 9:00am and during summer from 7:30am and 8:30am. All swimmers must wear brightly coloured swim caps for visibility (red and yellow are the easiest to spot). Swimmers should register the name and anticipated swim distance before entering the water and swim with a buddy.

On Saturday 26 January 2020, the Mandurah Australia Day Swim held at Doddi's Beach Halls Head. This swim was Round 4 of the new WOW Swim Series.

In 2020, more than 250 swimmers with a wide range of abilities competed in their choice of a 1km or 2km swim. Swims are conducted, in mostly waist-deep water, around a course set in the boating exclusion zone at Doddi's Beach.

The new WOW Swim Series welcomes swimmers of all ages and abilities from Western Australia's community to try open water swims from 250 metres to 10 kilometres and everything in between. WOW Swims has a distance that suits you - in protected locations with full water safety.

From the beautiful Swan River to the Indian Ocean and Lake Leschenaultia in the Perth Hills, you can enjoy a range of swimming environments.

With affordable entry costs including a range of discount options, WOW Swims are open to everyone - no memberships required.

WOW Swims are for the whole family - enjoy our beautiful locations and event hospitality before and after you swim.
