Presidents Prattle April 2023
Well the cold weather has arrived but the numbers at Doddi's hasn't decreased on a Saturday, during the week a few conscientious swimmers get down and tackle the elements. Still such a positive start to the day.
Tuesday training swapped from nights to a 10:30am start. Tuesday mornings has been successful, great turn out: Captain Alex enticed us with cooked blueberry muffins, yum yum. Well done Alex. Many thanks to our coach Wayne who keeps on giving with his time plus good to see his offsider training with the group.
Vorgee swims have commenced Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm, come down and train in the 50m lane, very different to the 25!!!
What can I say about our "Pacific Cruise", music by the Chain Reaction, absolutely brilliant. The report back to the committee; great crowd, just lovely to see everyone up dancing, Rosemary was crowned Queen of Dancing!!! Weather did the right thing, plus the food, had no complaints so it must have been pretty good, and the company excellent, overall it seems everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The bottles of vintage or white port will be available in the near future, grab a bottle, $20, and see your name on the back, something to look forward to. Ken Isbister, the lucky guy who won the meat raffle, congratulations Ken. Bill Knight and Jenny Crake did the frantic bidding for the elite bottles of vintage and white port, thank you. Once again, a big thanks to our amazing Social Committee. Manna's let the residence on the canals know that not only can we swim, but we can make a noise.
Our open water swims have finished until the Lake Leschenaultia Masters Swim usually the first weekend in November, watch out for the correct dates.
Don't forget our pool swims, the States May 6th and 7th (to late to enter), all the best to the swimmers that have registered. Saturday, 13th May, Stadium Masters Swim 1500m entries are open. June 18th Riverton Masters 400m and 800m. Lets all get together and support the Masters Swims.
