Bunbury & Busselton South-West Skins Meet

On Saturday Captain Jen, President Deb, Jenny C and Sue Mac made their way to Bunbury to participate in the South West SKINS carnival which was hosted by both the Bunbury and Busselton Masters Clubs. None of us had any real idea of how it all worked but we were pleasantly surprised and all enjoyed a fun afternoon.

Jen C and Sue Mac made the final of the 60+ Women’s Handicapped Freestyle SKINS event with Jen taking out 1st place after having to swim 3 x 50m races with only 2 minutes in between each. Sue came in 4th and was very pleased with herself.

Both Captain Jen and Deb made the final of the main event which was the Dash For Cash Open SKINS. It was a thrilling event to watch. Captain Jen came a very close second after having to swim 5 x 50m swims with only 2 mins in between each race.

It was also a pleasant surprise to see our own Des Seery in the role of Chief Official for the swim meet! He did a great job. Afterwards a magnificent afternoon tea was put on for us to enjoy and pick up the prizes. At the conclusion there was the opportunity to nominate yourself for a prize if you had a good reason. Deb was first to nominate herself for coming last with style in the Dash for Cash swim and subsequently was awarded a bottle of wine.

We will all be going back next year with hopefully a few more swimmers.
