The Major Award for the night was the Endorsement of the “Life Membership” for Des Seery, in appreciation of his huge contribution to the Club and State Masters Swimming. It is great to have such contributors as represented by our Life Members.
Your new Committee is as follows:
President Steve Crake
Vice President Des Seery
Secretary Narelle Gilmore
Treasurer Deb Bloor
Club Captain Mike Bennett
Coaching Director Wayne Cable
Recorder Kirk Bamford
Registrar Hazel Robertson
Safety Officer Ross Doherty
Public Relations Karen Sims
Social Convenor Greg Cochrane
Each of our committee are highly approachable folk, so if you have any ideas for the club’s improvement or activities, please talk to any of them.
It was interesting in our Recorder Annual report to hear that Mandurah Masters members hold a total of 191 State records and 30 National Records.
Congratulations also to the over 40 members who swam the Busselton Jetty Swim. It was once again a great gathering of the troops under the big oak before the start. This is always exciting and with a number of first timers this was again the case. There were some great swims with 3 age group winners. Well done Pauline, Kirk and Steve Fergy. While these were age group winners there were many proudly declaring their good times on a somewhat rough passage. For many this is their “Grand Final” while many others use it as a warm up for Rotto and Argyle swims.
The Pool squad remains strong with some more summer growth. Good luck to the small team travelling to the first LLCC for the year this Sunday.
With Greg as our new Social Convenor, I am sure he will be happy to receive suggestions on activities worth trying this year
Keep Swimming, Be Kind and look after each other.
